Default IWAY Perfection?

Everyone talks about the IWAY team build, but no one is in 100% agreement as to exactly how it should be run it seems.

What in your opinion is the perfect modern IWAY setup?

How many monks, what skills, and what other classes besides monk and warrior.

You might try this in the RA/TA/Hero's Ascent forums.

For a start, IWAY doesn't usually use monks
I always thought the standard was 1 N/Mo with orders, a N/E with stuff including AoE, two trappers and four standard IWAY warriors.

Well, instead of just bashing your build in, there is some idea of making it work...

It does involve some kookiness and guts...

4 IWAY warriors, 2 axes, 1 sword, 1 hammer

both axe builds built with Eviscerate + Exe. Strike in mind
Sword user uses mesmer 2ndary or something to stuff spells and a hot elite
Hammer is of the Devastating Aftershock Variety

Necro/Mo with standard orders
Boon Prot Monk who hides like cowardly bastard
and 2 high dmg nukers or support like mesmer or ranger...

That'd be a good balance there...

IMO - All of the warriors should carry "Fear Me" with them

That's the only thing that I don't see happening, and I have no clue why it isnt included.

4 warriors spamming Fear Me is an instant 16 energy loss every 4 adrenaline. Add it with hundred blades and for great justice and you got an energy denial warrior that matches a mesmer.

Nessaja, I am totally with you on the fear me thing. IMO Fear Me is one of the best energy drain since it's AoE and insta cast shout. Also, I've recently noticed that Wild Blow is a must. Ranger spike groups rely heavily on stances, not to mention the spaming of distortion.

I know the Eviscerate + Executioners is extremely popular, pretty much the standard IWAY axe build. But, can we do better? I think we can. For starters, I think Evicerate is an inefficient elite. You can inflict Deep Wound with similar skills, the extra damage is trivial. Excecutioners is nice and simple, but those spells can't be comboed. I think we can really turn this into hard damage, hard condition dealer. Now before you all scream Martyr, consider the speed with which 4 warriors can deal out cripple, bleeding and even poison. If they martyr, that monk will be continuously occpuied. If they mend, they will not be healing.

I mean, I know the extra damage you get from strength and attribute bonuses is very high with Executioners and Eviscerate, but then you pigeonhole yourself into attacking on only one front, physical damage, and only physical damage.

Maybe you can have the 4 warrior split into 2 teams, one condition or knockdown and other condition and damage, all with Fear Me.

The one who invented IWAY was a genious, the ones who keep using it over and over and over again (nothing wrong with using it a few times, but fighting IWAY over and over again gets boring...)must be bored by now.. Anyways, I've seen a 6 IWAY warriors, 1 order necro, one martyr monk work pretty devastating (monk had martyr + some condition remover versus the blinding..)

oO
It's probably the best warrior elite.

You don't need 4 copies of it though. 2x Axe and 2x Sword would be more efficient imo.
